MSO Planning

How is your planning going for MSO? What struggles have you faced? How were you able to overcome those struggles? Are you ready for MSO? What last minute planning do you have to get done?  Are you excited for this event?

  1. I think that planning for MSO has been pretty crazy in general. It has been hard to plan MSO and have all these other projects for classes due as well that involved groups, I caught myself working on one thing for a certain class and almost putting my work in a different group project folder sometimes haha,I would say that has been my biggest struggle, making sure that I have the time to just sit down and work on everything involving MSO. I believe that I am ready for MSO, I am excited for the kids to get here and to just have a fun night and let it be a fun night. I don't really have any last minute planning to do with MSO. I have all of my volunteers for the event and I am just looking forward to it being a great night. I am definitely excited for MSO to happen.

  2. I think that planning has been crazy. MSO just came a busy time of year and it has been very hard trying to get things together and get other work done. Then volunteers have to drop out because they have other things that come up. I think we were all a little stressed because of this. My group was great at getting things done and working together. That helped get things done. I had e-mail trouble too, so some of our stuff did not send to Melissa even though my e-mail said they did, but we got it worked out. I do not have last minute stuff to get done and I am looking forward to the kids coming, but a little worried about being tired that night. I can't wait to see what happens.

  3. I feel like the beginning of planning for MSO was crazy just trying to figure out what games we were doing and who we had to meet with and when. But here lately it has been pretty smooth sailing for our group-at least I feel like it. Those words might really come back to bite me in the butt later. I had struggles finding volunteers at the last second because two of my all-nighters dropped out. That was very stressful for me, but other than that I don't feel as though we struggled with anything. We just have to blow up some balloons and print some pictures, but other than that we don't really have any last minute things to do that are too tasking. I am excited for the games and to see how everything comes together, however, I feel as though I will struggle staying awake-hopefully the noise helps with that. :)

  4. The planning for MSO has been a lot of work. It has been hard to get together and work on the project. Our schedules are very different and so that was a chsllenge. We finally just had to make a time and just work on it and see who was doing what for the event. I am ready but then I am not. I ready to play games and have fun with teens. We still need to figure out where our voolunteers are working. We have not met with them all together but I feel like they will figure it out when we get there. I am excited for this event. I haven't done an event like this in awhile and so I am excited to see how things work out. I know that people have been planning for this event for awhile and so I hope that everything goes as plan.

  5. The planning for MSO wasn't necessarily, but it wasn't all too bad either. The main struggle my group faced was thinking of enough games that we could play with the limited amount of space we had. We were able to overcome these struggles by talking through how we could play this or that game with the space that we had, and by choosing games that wouldn't require too many expensive materials. Talking with Melissa and other adults helped as well. At the time this was posted I would say that we were ready for MSO. We knew who would be giving the directions for what game, we had our volunteers, and we had our materials. Something last minute I had to do was blow up 60ish balloons, but other than that I'd say we were good. I was excited for MSO, but at the same time I was dreading it. Staying up all night with 350 middle schoolers isn't exactly ideal, but at the same time I knew it was going to be a great learning experience and that I was going to have fun with the students as well as my friends and everyone in the class.

  7. I was actually very excited for MSO to come! I think the amount of preparation leading up to MSO gave me confidence that if anything happened, we could easily adapt or work with it because of how much we planned. The process of planning it was a bit exhausting at times in working through details only to find more that had to be done. I was nervous about the technology we'd be using because both of our sessions depended on having a well-operating music system. Luckily technology was no problem for us and when we did have to adapt, we were able to without too much fret!

  8. I was a little reluctant for MSO. I think we did a good job of planning. But I wasn't sure how it would go. The night went awesome for us. We only had to adapt once.
