ReplyDeleteI think that the event turned out pretty well. Everyone seemed to be having fun and enjoying themselves. I think that each group did a good job at each of their tasks. I think what we struggled with the most was getting everybody's attention. Other than that I think we all did pretty good, especially in terms of time. Something that should be improved upon next year is making sure everything is ready on time. Music should be playing, all the decorations should be up, etc.
I think that overall the party went well. I think that we really need to work on how we gain attention from others. Some people I talked to thought that was something we needed to work on. I think the teams did a good job, but we need to work on advertising more. After the party, I talked with ministry majors that were not there to see why they did not come. All of them said it was because they never knew about the party. They never received an e-mail or anything. I think next year the class needs to make sure every ministry major knows about the party. I think that we should have worked harder to get everything done before people started to come, maybe we should have started earlier. We did great with our time managment and playing games.

I think that each group did a great job at their tasks and everyone worked together to make sure everything turned out good.I think that we need to eat after the games are played that way people cant just eat and leave.
ReplyDeleteI think the event turned out great! I didn't think we would have a lot of people but I thought we had a good amount of people there. I did think each group did their task well. The group that was in charge of decorating did a great job and that all the games were well explained. I didn't like how we got the groups attention, I think we could work on that and also advertising a little bit better as well.
ReplyDeleteI think that overall our event went well and everyone that came had a good time. I think that we could prepare a little more for next year by having things ready well before people are supposed to be showing up. I also think that there needs to be a better way of giving out instructions for games and relaying instructions to people. I think it might also be a good idea to have the pizza come a little later so that we would have time to play more games before eating pizza so that they would not be able to just eat and leave without participating in the games.
ReplyDeleteI would say the night went well! I agree with what we discussed after the party, but to reiterate, I think the games went well and the turn out was solid! I think areas that could use improvement are instruction giving and general communication between the groups. I think we should have also done a better job with welcoming and intentionally meeting those we didn't know (Freshmen!!!). As a whole though, this party was a great planning experience for all of us and we all came through with our responsibilities-everything else that can be improved upon is just another challenge to grow to be better youth leaders! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone that the party went pretty well! But I also agree that we could have improved the beginning of the event when we were welcoming our peers and new faces; it would have been a smoother start and would have created a more welcoming and inviting atmosphere and more people might have stayed. Everyone di so well leading their games and they were awesome! Though, I wonder if we should have had some other element to the party; such as instead of playing a ton of big group games, we could have had time during or after pizza to hang out or play smaller games like Apples to Apples or Quelf just to sociallize so we could have gotten to know people better. Just thoughts =)
ReplyDeleteI think that the party went really well. I think that we all did a good job of doing the jobs that we were assigned to do. I agree with Ryan on the part of not allowing everyone to just eat and then leave. We need to eat more towards the end maybe and that will have people stay for a while longer. I also like Steph's idea of doing a social game like apples to apples or something that will go by quickly so they can get to know each other and socialize more.
ReplyDeleteI think that the pizza party turned out a lot better than I had originally expected. I think we could have improved when it came to greeting our guests as they came into the game room, and I also think that we need a sound system of sorts for the future. I also think that having food towards the end would help to get more people to stay for the games we play. I also think we should have music or something playing in the background in the future. I thought everyone did really well at leading their games, but I also think that in the future we need to have more people to referee the games so people don't try to cheat.
