The End Is Near, My Friends!

So as we close in on the end of this semester and the year as a whole, we need to reflect not only on what we have recently learned, but the accumulation of our time thus far in this course (and all of our other courses too!). What would you guys say are some things that you have learned either through the camp project, or anything else we have done this semester? How have these assignments and events helped to prepare us for our future ministries? Is there anything you would change and why? Maybe this class has even changed the way you think of your future ministry? If so, what has changed? What do you see differently? What has this class meant to you?

  1. It is crazy to think that we only have a week and half left! It feels as if this semester has flown by. When looking over the entire semester I would say that this class has helped me learn how to plan events. The camp project, specifically, has shown me different elements of planning that I had not previously taken into consideration or merely overlooked. It has shown me how to best adapt in planning and how working with different personalities looks. MSO has shown me that planning an all-nighter is hard work and that I do not want run an all nighter in my future ministry. The wilderness retreat showed me the beauty of having retreats and how they are not difficult to plan. I absolutely loved the Pizza Party and feel even more equipped for planning parties such as that. Is there anything I would change to the class? I would have less assignments with all of the stuff we have to plan. This class has been stressful at times and loads of fun at other times. It has shown me the importance of godly play and how to properly plan. I am very grateful for this class.

  2. I can't even believe we are all almost seniors. That scares me, but I am also excited to see what God has in store. I think that lately I have noticed that even though I consider myself to be pretty good organizer, I still have so much to learn and improve upon before my days of ministry! It has helped to work with a team during this class, and I know that working with a team of youth workers will also help. More than anything this class has really confirmed my call and I am so extremely excited to be in ministry. There are things that will be difficult and frustrating, and many more all-nighters that will exhaust me for weeks (haha), but I absolutely love working with teens and I am ready to see what God has in store for my ministry following MVNU. :)

  3. I can't believe that we are almost done with this class as well! This semester has gone so fast, but it has been a really good semester! I have been very blessed by this class and I think it has taught me a lot about planning events! Through all the events that we had to plan, I feel much more equipped to have to plan big events. This class has definitely helped me in my call into ministry and I can't wait to start using what I have learned in the future! This has been a great class, but there are a few things that I would change. I would have fewer assignments for this. I honestly believe that I spent more hours doing work for this class than any of my others this semester, but it has been a good class overall. I am still thankful for taking it!
