A Year in the Rear-view Mirror :)

Well, we are basically days away from calling it a year and finishing this class.  In looking back on the semester, how was it as a whole?  What did you gain the most from-why?  What did you feel you did not gain much at all from-why? Is there anything you would have done differently in retrospect?

MSO Planning

How is your planning going for MSO? What struggles have you faced? How were you able to overcome those struggles? Are you ready for MSO? What last minute planning do you have to get done?  Are you excited for this event?

Camp Projects

Overall, what were your thoughts on the experience of creating the camp notebook? Was there anything new you learned about event planning that you had never really thought about before? What do you think the biggest challenge of planning an event like this would be? What's the main thing you want to make sure you remember about this type of event planning?

Event Planning/Creative Process

Why is it important to brainstorm when creating a regular ministry night? How does cardstorming work and why should we use it? Do you think that the different ideas that we talked about in class will help you out later on in ministry?

Wilderness Retreat (Drew Simon)

Overall, how do you feel that the retreat went? What was your favorite part? Were their parts that you didn't like? How are you going to apply what you learned?

Mid-Term Party

How do you think the event turned out? Do you think that each group did a good job at their tasks? What can we improve for next time?

Camps and Retreats

Why do you think it is important for youth ministries to attend camps and retreats? How have camps and retreats helped to shape who you are?

Games

How did it help you and your group to work through the games and activities for the mid-term party and MSO with the class? In what ways was it easy or challenging to adapt? To accept criticism? What was one part of good game developing that you learned from class or reading that you hadn't heard or thought of before?

Godly play

What are your feelings on Godly play? How did you feel while you were experiencing the Godly play exercise during class? Is Godly play something that you would use in your future ministry? Is Godly play something you would incorporate in your home in the future? What aspects of Godly play did you think would be effective in ministry?

Teaching Kiddos

As you were preparing to teach your lesson to the kids, what was going through your mind? Where you nervous or scared? Where you prepared and able to make a lesson? What did you feel when the kids first walked in?  What were your overall feelings about the day?

Methodology

We talked about four methods of teaching that are used in Scripture; the Story, Parables, Object Lessons, and Initiatives. Out of these four methods, which are you most likely to use with your youth? Why do you think that particular one would be the best way to get your point across?

Whys and Whats

Why are you in this class? What do you hope to gain from it?  Why do you feel recreation ministry is important in the church and in Christian Education? What is one thing you hope to learn or a skill you hope to develop?
